Health has been an integral part of my life. The inspiration evolved from my mother who is a Registered Nurse. Naturally, I followed in her footsteps. My love for nursing grew. I then went on to obtain my masters degree and I am currently a Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner at a world renowned academic center and a clinical nursing professor. Diet and maintaining a healthy lifestyle go hand in hand not only in my personal but also in my professional life. My professional success did come about effortlessly. I was a young teenage mother, unable to envision what my future would encompass. I set out goals and with the support of my family was able to beat the odds. The motto I live by is, no matter what life throws at you, with self determination you can accomplish anything
Fitness and healthcare have always been a passion of mine. It took many years to perfect and find the road to success. For my 30th birthday I set out a goal to invest in myself. I enlisted the help of my amazing trainer and decided to train for my first ever bikini fitness competition. In July 2015, I entered the PNBA North American Natural Body Building show and won 1st place in Bikini Divas Novice, 1st place in Bikini Open Short division and Overall in Bikini Divas Open as well as an award for most symmetrical. The overall title made me eligible for my professional card. I was completely taken back by this recognition. The outpour of love and support from family, friends and strangers was overwhelming. Feeling blessed once again, I decided to pursue bikini fitness competing on a professional level. My first pro show debut will be in April 2016 at Illinois State Natural Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship. I also plan on entering the Natural Olympia Competition in November 2016. Being a natural athlete is something that I am extremely proud of and honored to be a part of. My goal is to be an exemplary role model to my daughter and continue to inspire, succeed and grow.
